Dr. Nathan Smith, the founder of Smart Pediatric Dentistry, is a distinguished board-certified pediatric dental specialist. Raised in Idaho Falls as the eighth child in a family of thirteen, Dr. Smith's commitment to children's health led him to earn his dental degree with Magna Cum Laude honors from The Ohio State University's College of Dentistry. Following graduation, he relocated his family to Colorado to complete a two-year specialty training in pediatric dentistry. In 2004, Dr. Smith established Smart Pediatric Dentistry, which has since become the premier pediatric dental group in Utah County. Known for his kind demeanor and fluency in Spanish, Dr. Smith ensures that his patients feel comfortable under his care. Beyond his professional endeavors, his love for the outdoors, including hunting, fishing, biking, and traveling, complements his dedication to family, shared with his wife Tiffany and their five children.

Dr. McKell, a Utah native, discovered his passion for medicine early in life, influenced by his father's profession as a dentist and the aspirations of his two brothers in healthcare. After obtaining a Bachelor's degree in exercise physiology from Brigham Young University, he pursued his Doctorate at the California College of Podiatric Medicine, graduating in 1991. Following a Podiatric Surgery Residency in Denver, Colorado, Dr. McKell became Board Certified in Foot Surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. Serving as Department Chairman of Podiatric Medicine at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, he is known for his meticulous attention to detail and accurate diagnoses. Dr. McKell's commitment extends beyond the clinic, as he and his wife actively participate in humanitarian work in the Dominican Republic. Specializing in treating a diverse range of foot and ankle problems, he is a favorite among patients, offering solutions for sport injuries, ingrown toenails, diabetes, heel pain, bunions, hammertoes, nail fungus, and warts. As a partner in the Foot and Ankle Clinics of Utah with offices from Lehi to Payson, Dr. McKell covers a significant part of Utah County, providing surgical procedures when necessary at various locations throughout the valley.

I grew up in Brigham City, Utah, where, as a youth and avid scouter, I was inspired to become a dentist by my Scoutmaster. I set my sights on dentistry and began preparing for this career as early as high school and continued on to Utah State University studying biology, chemistry, and public health. I received my Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas School of Dental Medicine, and pediatric specialty training at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and the Children’s Hospital & Medical Center.

I was 12 years old when I decided I wanted to be a dentist. I was blessed to have a mother who was a dental hygienist that quit her own practice of dentistry to be my mom but never lost her love of the profession. I had great friends and examples that encouraged my education and dreams. My college years allowed me to pursue my love and amazement of the human body, the relationships of loving people and the environment that surrounds us.

Dr. Darren Chamberlain, DDS, is a highly skilled and compassionate pediatric dentist with a diverse and accomplished background. After earning his Psychology degree from Brigham Young University, Dr. Chamberlain pursued his dental education at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. Following dental school, he completed a rigorous 2-year residency in Pediatric Dentistry at New York University in New York City, equipping him with specialized knowledge and hands-on experience to address the unique dental needs of infants, children, adolescents, and individuals with special health care needs. Dr. Chamberlain is not only dedicated to his private practice but is also actively involved in humanitarian efforts, volunteering his time and skills with organizations such as Give Kids A Smile. He has made a global impact by providing dental care to children in El Salvador, Nicaragua, and Grenada. Additionally, Dr. Chamberlain holds leadership roles, serving in the Utah Dental Association Presidency, as a Board Member at Riverwoods Surgical Center, and on the Board of the Share A Smile Foundation.
